Swades !
Had seen this movie looooong back when it was released somewhere in 2005 but getting to write about it now.
Everything about the movie is inspiring and real. Starting from a successful Indian(NRI) well settled in USA, a Project leader in NASA, his vacation in India and thought of getting back his granny to USA, the stay in India for some while, seeing the real India across trains, boats, cycle rides, realising true worth as an Indian, and then leaving all these things yet again, making work priority over feelings and emotions, finishing off the work and then the great come back.
This is definitely not a typical Sharukh Khan movie, no melo-drama, no ultra huge sets.
There are many scenes in movie which remains glued to your memory no matter how much time may elapse. Writing this blog, just to pen them down and about a narration(from the movie) which keeps ticking in my mind daily.
* Throughout the movie, Mohan Bhargav is shown drinking Bisleri water, but when about to reach a station Ajite, a poor kid aged around 8 runs towards train, in one hand he has a bucket containing kullars(mud-glasses) and in another a water kettle, his clothes are dirk struck, too long for his little body but he doesnt actually have an choice, running shouting, *pani lo pani, 25 paise ka ek glass* to find one person who might drink water. He asks Mohan if he wants to drink, Mohan unable to speak just nods yes, takes water, drinks it and give kid 1 rupee. And then the train moves and kid collects that 1 ruppee, counts it with rest 4 - 5 Rs he has.
* When Gita is standing with her feet in water and Mohan joins her and feels the purity of water touching his feet. Later when in USA, he wakes up one morning and puts his feet on floor and is taken aback as the same feeling haunts him.
* when the villagers ask him about his job at NASA. He says that he is working on a satellite around earth to predict rainfall, the village elder says, "Yeh kaam tho hamra Sahadev bhi karat hai." And then, Sahadev looks upto the sky and says, "Aasmaan saaf hai, do din tak barsaat nahin hogi." And he says, "Ji, main bhi yehi kaam kartha hoon."
* The cute fights b/w him and Gita like the one when he is taking bath and singing song * Waitin for a girl like you* . Also the I-know-It-All types naughty smile of kaveri amma.
* The rejection of so called groom by Gita :-D coz they wont let her work after marriage.
*i need to know tht entire dialog*
* Hesitating to act because the whole vision might not be achieved, or because others do not yet share it, is an attitude that only hinders progress. - Mahatam Gandhi
* Now the best-est of all !! the last Ramayan scene. Heres those lines and teh reason behind writing teh blog:

* Now the best-est of all !! the last Ramayan scene. Heres those lines and teh reason behind writing teh blog:
shaanti mein raam hai
Raam hi hai ekta mein,
pragati mein raam hai
Raam bas bhakton nahin ,shatru ke bhi chintan mian hai
Dekh taj ke paap raavan,
raam tere mann mein hai
Raam tere mann mein hai,
raam mere mann mein hai
Raam toh ghar ghar mein hai,
raam har aangan mein hai
Mannse raavan jo nikaale, raam uske mann mein hai !!
It is Ram in tenderness
Ram is in calmness
It is Ram in unity
Ram is in progress
Ram is not only in his followers
but also in thoughts of enemies
ohh Ravan, try leaving the bad
and find Ram within u!
Ram is within you
Ram is within me
Ram is in every house
Ram is in every courtyard
Who so ever removes Ravan from within,
Ram is within him
Who so ever removes Ravan from within,
Ram is within him.

Unfortunately, the movie didn’t get good commercial success though. I was very surprised. Maybe …Not everybody is supposed to understand all the emotions ……..
